The Watchmen

I'm a big fan of Alan Moore's graphic novel, The Watchmen, not least because of the 'Tales of the Black Freighter' sub-story.

I hope they manage to reference it somewhere in the upcoming cinematic version, which if I am being honest, looks a little boombastic. It could just be the trailers, but I hope they haven't just made a poor-man's X-Men or token superhero film.

Yes, the story is about 'superheroes' in the broadest sense, but it's not really about explosions and good vs evil in my opinion. Hopefully plenty of time will be given to character development and interaction.
